September 22, 2005
Together we are gathered
To celebrate another year
More memories to remember
New memories will appear.
Whether they are good or bad
They are memories that値l stay
Forever in our hearts
Forever will remain.
I know if I知 elected fundraising coordinator
Things will turn out to be great
We値l work together as a team
We値l work at the same rate.
My dedication will emerge
Time after time
Members will get involved
And everything will be fine.
But fine is not the word I知 looking for
For that痴 not how it値l be
It値l be exceptional!
It値l be great, you値l see!
So whenever you get to vote
Do it now, not later!
Vote for Rocio Neri
For fundraising coordinator.
Leadership Officer Candidates:
Chris Koteras
My name is Christopher Ryan Koteras and I am running for the position of Leadership Officer. I have been attending San Antonio College for three semesters as a music major and am loving every minute of it, whether it is performing with my clarinet on stage or sitting in the lounge filling my head with algebra and music theory. I am a member of the SAC concert band, play in the community orchestra at The University of the Incarnate Word, and am a guitarist in my church choir. I have also been an instructor for the first grade catechism class at my church. I was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa at the beginning of this semester for my effort in keeping my GPA high. It was not an easy task but ty persistance and effort paid off. It is an honor to be part of such a distinguished group as the Phi Theta Kappa, and thrilling to be working along side such high achievers. If I am elected Leadership Officer, I will give it my all to fulfill the duties that will be required of me. I will put forth my greatest effort to make Phi Theta Kappa that much better.
Alexandria Sanchez
My name is Alexandria Sanchez and I am running for the position of Leadership Officer. I know I am the best candidate because I have the dedication, determination and drive needed to aid the Beta Nu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa in being the best. I have had experience in high school and at the Gary Job Corps Program in San Marcos with student leadership positions and organizations. At Job Corps, I help 9 of 10 student government positions. I would have held all 10, however when I was Lt. Governor, the Governor and I graduated the same day. I also founded a Peer Education Group. I have learned alot through experiences I have in my life and believe that having a position with the title leadership is more than just 'being in charge' or 'leading'. One of the most important qualities I possess, that will aid if elected, is the ability to compromise; with that also comes the ability to adapt not only to my surroundings but also to the people around me. I have learned a lot about the diversity of people and cultures, and I believe that is needed in any office position. Lastly, the Leadership Position also entails making PTK and SAC more exciting for prospective students and PTK members. I am a proud 'cheerleader' of both SAC and PTK, and am dedicated to striving for excellence. Vote for for me, Alexandria Sanchez, and I will not disappoint you.
Scholarship Officer Candidates:
Leon Valverde
My name is Leon Valverde and Im running for Officer for Scholarship. I am a newly inducted member of Phi Theta Kappa. I work with the City of San Antonio in community outreach programs that assists underpriviledged children, teens and seniors. I teach computer literacy to adults in a program called the Alamo Area Community Information Systems.
I'm very proud of the work I do there, that is why I believe I can make a significant impact with the Beta Nu chapter. I bring to the table a broad range of contacts that can make the lectures that we want a complete success, including the Satellite Seminars which I find facinating.
Scholarly oriented events are a passion of mine. I take adavantage of lectures given across the city in various university campuses. I know the ins and outs of organizing a successful lecture and I ask for your vote in this election.
I proudly want to serve and I sincerly thank you for your vote.
